Esmeralda Ramos, B.A.
Esmeralda Ramos, BA, is currently the Project Manager for the Community Partners in Care (CPIC) study at the UCLA Semel Institute’s Health Services Research Center under the direction of Dr. Ken Wells, Principal Investigator of CPIC. Ms. Ramos oversees all areas of the CPIC study including project planning, implementation, and evaluation. Ms. Ramos also works with Dr. Jeanne Miranda on the EXPORT Project- Mood and Diabetes Empowerment and Improvement Training (MADE IT) developing intervention materials, translating documents to Spanish and coordinating all aspects of the project with other staff members. She worked for several months as a Community Worker III with Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science on the EXPORT Project. In addition, Ms. Ramos worked with Professor Carolyn Mendez-Luck of UCLA on the Mexican Elder Care Project interviewing Mexican/Mexican-American women caregivers in various communities of Los Angeles. Ms. Ramos has experience working with Latino populations who suffer from Diabetes and Depression and has been trained by Dr. Miranda to teach Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She is a recent graduate from UCLA with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Sociology and a minor in Chicana/o Studies.
